NoiseNudge

NoiseNudge is a mobile + web app that helps teachers manage classroom volume with subtle, consistent cues instead of constant verbal reminders. A phone or tablet listens locally and shows a simple “traffic light” display (green/yellow/red) on a projected web dashboard. Teachers can set different thresholds for activities (independent work, group work, transitions) and run quick timers that automatically adjust acceptable noise levels. The app logs noise patterns by time of day and activity so teachers can spot predictable spikes (e.g., right after lunch) and plan routines accordingly. It also includes a one-tap “reset” routine that displays a short, teacher-chosen visual prompt (e.g., ‘voices to level 1’) and optionally plays a soft chime. It is not a surveillance tool: it measures decibel levels and basic trends, not speech content or identities.
