NoiseNudge is a mobile + web app that helps shoppers avoid the most common “I hate this appliance” regret: unexpected noise. Users scan a product barcode or search a model, then see standardized, real-world noise profiles submitted by verified owners (e.g., dishwasher wash vs. drain, fridge compressor cycles, washer spin). The app guides contributors through a 30-second recording flow with calibration (phone model, distance, room type) and produces an easy “Quiet Score” plus time-of-day noise patterns. For shoppers, it compares similar models and flags units with high variance (often a sign of quality inconsistency). For retailers and brands, it offers a paid dashboard showing noise complaints by model and batch, helping reduce returns. This is realistic: you won’t perfectly measure dB on phones, but you can reliably rank and spot outliers at scale.
