NowcastOps is a mobile + web app for weather-critical field operations (construction, utilities, event crews) that need actionable, hyperlocal decisions—not generic forecasts. It ingests radar, lightning, and short-term model data and converts it into simple operational triggers: “stop lifts in 12 minutes,” “resume in 25–40 minutes,” “gust risk high for cranes,” with confidence bands and a clear explanation of why. Users draw geofenced job sites, set thresholds (wind, lightning radius, precip intensity), and get push/SMS alerts plus a shared timeline for supervisors. The app also logs weather-driven stoppages with supporting evidence (radar snapshots, lightning strikes) to reduce disputes, improve safety compliance, and justify delays. It’s brutally focused on 0–2 hour nowcasting and decision support, not long-range forecasting or pretty maps.
