OffsetProof is a web app (with optional mobile companion) that helps SMBs and climate-conscious teams avoid low-quality carbon credits by scoring projects and vendors against transparent, evidence-based criteria. Users upload or link a credit listing, registry ID, or vendor proposal; the app pulls registry metadata, issuance/retirement history, methodology, and public documentation, then flags common red flags (double counting risk, weak additionality, over-crediting signals, missing monitoring). It generates a short “buy/no-buy” memo and a defensible audit trail you can share with finance, legal, or customers. This is an AI + traditional app: AI summarizes dense project docs and extracts claims; rules-based checks enforce consistency and prevent hallucinated conclusions. It will not magically “verify” credits—rather, it reduces due-diligence time and helps teams avoid reputational blowups from buying offsets that won’t stand up to scrutiny.
