OriginGuard
OriginGuard is a web app (traditional + AI) that monitors CDN behavior and proactively protects your origin servers from traffic spikes, cache-miss storms, and misconfigurations. It ingests CDN logs and metrics, then builds a real-time risk model for origin saturation: rising miss ratios, sudden TTL shifts, invalidation bursts, bot surges, and regional anomalies. When risk crosses thresholds, it can automatically apply guardrails: temporary cache policy overrides, rate limits at the edge/WAF, selective shielding, and safer rollout of config changes. The AI component focuses on anomaly detection and “what changed” root-cause summaries (e.g., a deploy altered cache keys or headers). This is not a generic observability dashboard; it’s a narrowly scoped control plane to prevent expensive outages and surprise bills. Setup is pragmatic: connect Cloudflare/Fastly/Akamai logs, define SLOs for origin latency/error, and enable recommended protections with approval workflows.
