OutagePantry
OutagePantry is a mobile + web app that helps households and small community kitchens plan meals around resource scarcity—especially water, power, and fuel disruptions. Users scan or import pantry items, then select likely constraints (no electricity, boil-water advisory, limited gas, no refrigeration). The app generates realistic meal plans and prep checklists: what to cook first, what to freeze now, what to shelf-stabilize, and what to buy that won’t spoil. It also includes a “minimum viable pantry” builder that recommends a small set of low-water, low-energy foods based on dietary needs and budget. This is not a doomsday app; it’s practical continuity planning for normal people. It can pull local outage/alert feeds where available, but it still works offline with user-defined scenarios. Monetization: freemium with a paid tier for advanced planning, family profiles, and community-kitchen templates.
