OutbreakOps
OutbreakOps is a web app (with optional mobile companion) for local public health teams to manage infectious-disease investigations end-to-end: case intake, contact lists, task assignment, follow-ups, and daily situation reports. It focuses on the unglamorous operational layer that breaks during surges—who called whom, what was said, what’s pending, and what’s overdue—without requiring a full enterprise EHR integration. The app provides configurable workflows for common events (foodborne, measles, TB exposure, norovirus in facilities), templated interview scripts, and automated reminders via SMS/email. A lightweight AI assistant can draft call notes from structured prompts, suggest next-step tasks based on guidelines, and generate a clean daily summary for leadership. Data export and audit logs are built in for compliance and post-incident review. Realistically, it wins by being faster to deploy than heavyweight state systems and more disciplined than ad-hoc tools.
