PaceGate

PaceGate is a web + desktop app that helps teams set and enforce realistic communication boundaries across Slack, Microsoft Teams, and email. Instead of relying on willpower, it adds lightweight “policy rails”: after-hours nudges, delayed-send defaults, and escalation paths for true emergencies. Individuals can set personal rules (e.g., no pings after 6pm, focus blocks, meeting-free windows) while managers can publish team norms and see aggregate compliance without spying on message content. The app generates a simple boundary scorecard and highlights where norms are being broken (e.g., one team constantly messaging at night). It’s brutally practical: it won’t fix toxic cultures, but it can reduce accidental boundary violations and make norms visible. It’s designed for small-to-mid teams that want fewer interruptions and less burnout without a heavy HR program.
