PaintProof is a mobile app (traditional + AI) that helps DIY homeowners avoid the most common painting disasters: peeling, flashing, lap marks, and wrong sheen/color choices. You scan the room and surfaces, then answer a few prompts (previous paint type, moisture, stains, gloss level). The app generates a step-by-step prep plan, product checklist, and drying/recoat schedule based on local weather/humidity. It also warns you when your plan is likely to fail (e.g., painting latex over glossy oil without deglossing, painting in high humidity, skipping primer on patched drywall). It’s not a “pretty color visualizer” first; it’s a risk-reduction tool with practical instructions, time estimates, and shopping links. Users can save projects, track coats, and get reminders for cure time before moving furniture back.
