PaliFootnote

PaliFootnote is a web app (with optional mobile companion) for serious Buddhist scripture study that focuses on verifiable commentary chains. Users can read a sutta/verse alongside layered commentaries (e.g., Aṭṭhakathā, Ṭīkā, modern scholarly notes) with every claim tied to a citation and page/section anchor. The core workflow is “highlight → attach citation → export,” making it useful for teachers, students, and translators who need clean references for talks, papers, or translation drafts. It includes a parallel-text viewer for Pali/Sanskrit and English, plus a personal library where users can store their own notes and bibliographies. This is not a meditation app; it’s a study tool. The hard part is licensing and building a trustworthy corpus—without that, it’s just another reader.
