PantryAtlas
PantryAtlas is a mobile + web AI cooking app focused on international recipes that are actually doable with local supermarket ingredients. Users scan or type their pantry, pick a cuisine (Thai, Mexican, Ethiopian, Korean, etc.), and the app generates a short list of authentic-ish recipes ranked by ingredient match, cost, and difficulty. It then offers “closest authentic” substitutions (with warnings when a swap will change the dish) and a single consolidated shopping list for missing items. The app also teaches technique: short, cuisine-specific micro-lessons (e.g., tempering spices, building sofrito, balancing fish sauce/acid/sugar) tied to the recipe step you’re on. Brutal reality: recipe apps are saturated, and “AI recipes” are often garbage. This only works if you enforce curated cuisine rules, verified base recipes, and honest substitution guidance instead of hallucinated instructions.
