PantryProof

PantryProof is a mobile app (with optional web dashboard) that keeps a lightweight, realistic inventory of pantry and staple items without demanding perfection. Users add items via quick barcode scan, receipt import, or simple voice entry, then set “good enough” quantities (e.g., 1 jar, half bag). The app nudges you when you’re about to re-buy something you already have, and generates a short “use-first” list based on what’s oldest, what’s open, and what’s likely to expire soon. It also creates a minimal shopping list that prioritizes staples you’re actually out of, not what an algorithm guesses you want. This is a combination traditional + AI app: AI is used for receipt parsing, item normalization (brand-to-generic), and expiry estimation. The goal is not a perfect pantry database—it’s fewer wasted purchases and fewer expired basics.
