PantryProof is a mobile app (with optional web dashboard) that helps households track pantry, fridge, and freezer inventory with minimal effort. Users scan receipts (email or photo) and barcodes to auto-add items, then the app predicts expiry windows and nudges you to use items before they go bad. It generates “use-what-you-have” meal suggestions and a shopping list that excludes what’s already at home. The honest reality: most people won’t manually log items, so the product is built around passive capture (receipt parsing) and quick corrections. It also supports shared households so partners stop double-buying. Monetization is a freemium model: free basic tracking, paid tier for multi-store integrations, advanced expiry alerts, and family sharing. The goal is saving money and reducing waste, not becoming another complicated recipe app.
