ParamTuner
ParamTuner is a web app (with an optional lightweight agent) that benchmarks your database under your real workload and recommends safe, staged configuration changes. Instead of generic “best practices,” it runs controlled experiments on a replica or staging environment: toggling parameters (memory, parallelism, autovacuum, cache, temp settings), capturing latency/throughput, and quantifying tradeoffs. It outputs a ranked change list with rollback steps, expected impact, and risk level. It supports PostgreSQL first (because it’s common and tunable), then expands to MySQL and managed variants. This is not magic: many teams are leaving performance on the table due to default settings and cargo-cult tuning. The app focuses on repeatable measurement, not opinions, and produces an audit trail you can share with SRE/security for approvals.
