PartPilot

PartPilot is a mobile + web AI app that helps DIYers identify and buy the correct hardware parts (screws, anchors, bolts, washers, fittings) from a photo and a few quick prompts. Users snap a picture of the part (or the hole/material), and the app suggests likely standards (metric/imperial), dimensions, thread type, and compatible alternatives. It then maps results to real, in-stock items from major retailers and local hardware stores, including substitutions when the exact match is unavailable. The app also provides a short “confidence + why” explanation, a checklist of what to measure, and a one-tap cart export. This is not a magic wand: accuracy depends on photo quality and user measurements, and it won’t replace a pro for complex plumbing/electrical. But it can eliminate the most common DIY time-waster: multiple store trips and buying the wrong fastener.
