PatchBirder

PatchBirder is a mobile + web companion for birders who repeatedly visit the same local spots (“patches”). Instead of another generic ID tool, it helps you build a reliable, personal baseline for what’s normal at each location and season, then flags what’s genuinely unusual. You log sightings quickly (even offline), and the app auto-summarizes weekly patterns: expected species, peak times, and “missing regulars.” It also creates a lightweight “patch report” you can share with friends or local groups without turning into a social network. The AI component focuses on anomaly detection and trend summaries, not magical identification claims. Realistically, it won’t replace eBird; it complements it by making your local birding more intentional and by surfacing insights you’d otherwise miss in spreadsheets or scattered notes.
