PatchNotes

PatchNotes is a web app (with optional Slack/Discord integrations) that lets power users and customers draft, upvote, and refine release notes, changelogs, and “what changed” explainers for software products. Instead of product teams writing bland updates, the community contributes real-world context: what broke, what improved, workarounds, and screenshots. Maintainers approve and publish the best submissions into an official changelog feed, with automatic linking to commits, tickets, and feature flags. The app includes lightweight moderation, reputation scoring, and templates so contributions stay structured (impact, steps, affected plans, rollback tips). It’s not a magic growth hack—teams still need to review content—but it can drastically reduce support tickets and “what did you change?” noise for fast-shipping products.
