PathoPermit is a web + mobile compliance and incident-response app for zoos, sanctuaries, and exotic animal facilities to manage zoonotic disease risk in day-to-day operations. It centralizes staff health attestations, bite/scratch exposure reports, quarantine workflows, and cleaning/disinfection checklists tied to specific enclosures and species. When an exposure or symptom is logged, the app triggers a step-by-step response playbook (who to notify, isolation steps, recommended PPE, and documentation for regulators/insurers). It also generates audit-ready reports for USDA/APHIS inspections and internal safety reviews. This is not a magic “predict outbreaks” tool; it’s a practical system to reduce missed documentation and slow response times, which are the real failure points in most facilities. The MVP focuses on simple workflows that staff will actually use on a phone, even during busy shifts.
