PathPulse

PathPulse is a desktop + lightweight agent network monitoring tool focused on one thing: pinpointing the exact hop, ISP segment, or internal device causing user-visible slowness. Instead of drowning admins in dashboards, it runs scheduled path tests (ICMP/TCP/HTTP) from endpoints and key sites, then correlates spikes in latency, packet loss, and DNS/TLS failures into a single “probable fault” timeline. It’s designed for small IT teams who don’t have time to maintain a full observability stack. The MVP would include an on-prem collector (Docker) plus agents for Windows/macOS/Linux, with a simple web UI for alerts and incident playback. This is not magic: it won’t replace enterprise NPM suites, but it can be a pragmatic, cheaper way to answer the daily question, “Is it our network, the ISP, DNS, or the SaaS provider?”
