PatternProof is a mobile + web app for sewists and craft makers to validate garment and craft patterns before committing time and materials. Users upload a PDF pattern (or photos of printed pieces), enter their body measurements, fabric type, and stretch %, then run a “fit sanity check” that flags likely issues: mismatched seam lengths, missing notches, grading jumps, ease that’s out of range, and pieces that won’t tile/print correctly. It also generates a cut plan for common fabric widths and estimates yardage more realistically than most pattern envelopes. This is an AI-assisted app (for piece detection and measurement extraction) combined with traditional rule-based checks (for seam matching, tolerance thresholds, and print tiling). It won’t magically guarantee perfect fit—real bodies and sewing skill vary—but it can prevent the most expensive mistakes and reduce failed projects.
