PausePal

PausePal is a mobile app (iOS/Android) that helps parents of 2–6 year-olds reduce meltdowns caused by abrupt screen shutoffs. Instead of just timers and locks, it adds a predictable “landing sequence” before the screen ends: a 2-minute countdown with a simple on-screen ritual (breathing bubbles, stretch prompts, or a short goodbye song) and a parent script that matches the child’s age. Parents set allowed apps, session length, and the landing sequence style. The app then overlays a gentle, consistent end-of-session flow and logs what happened (ended smoothly vs. tantrum, parent notes). It’s not magic: it won’t fix deeper behavior issues or replace parenting. But it can reduce the most common failure point—sudden transitions—by making endings routine and emotionally easier for kids.
