PayProof

PayProof is a web app with a lightweight mobile companion that audits payroll runs before you submit them. You connect your payroll provider (starting with Gusto/ADP exports and QuickBooks Payroll CSVs), then upload or sync the pay run preview. PayProof checks for common, costly errors: unexpected pay spikes, missing hours, duplicate employees, incorrect overtime calculations, retro pay anomalies, new hires not set up for taxes, and benefit deductions that suddenly changed. It flags issues with plain-English explanations and a checklist for approval, then stores an immutable “payroll approval packet” for future disputes and audits. This is not a full payroll system—switching payroll is painful and incumbents are entrenched—so the product focuses on being the last-mile QA layer that reduces expensive corrections, employee trust damage, and time wasted on back-and-forth. Pricing is per pay run or per employee tier.
