PaywallKit is a web app (with a lightweight mobile-friendly creator dashboard) that lets newsletter writers sell access without fighting Substack’s limitations or stitching together five tools. You create “access rules” (paid tier, one-time pass, coupon, free trial), then connect your email provider (Substack export/import, Beehiiv, ConvertKit, Mailchimp) to automatically add/remove subscribers from the right segments. It also hosts a simple member hub: archive access, bonus posts, downloadable perks, and a receipts page that reduces support emails. The AI component helps generate upgrade prompts, pricing experiments, and churn-save offers based on subscriber behavior, but the core value is reliable gating + delivery. Realistically, this wins only if it’s dead-simple, fast to set up, and cheaper than hiring a developer or paying for bloated “all-in-one” platforms.
