PaywallPilot is a desktop browser extension (Chrome/Firefox) that focuses on “safe ad blocking”: it removes intrusive ads and trackers while preserving site functionality by using per-site compatibility profiles and lightweight script sandboxing. Instead of a giant, brittle filter list arms race, it prioritizes stable browsing: fewer broken comment boxes, fewer infinite spinners, fewer “disable your ad blocker” loops. It includes a one-click “Support Mode” that allows non-tracking, privacy-respecting ads on sites you choose, plus a clear dashboard showing what was blocked and what was allowed. This is not a magic bullet—publishers and ad tech constantly change—but it aims to reduce the daily friction that makes people abandon ad blockers or constantly whitelist sites. Monetization is a low-cost subscription for sync, curated compatibility profiles, and premium support.
