PDHandshake

PDHandshake is a mobile + desktop companion app that reveals what actually happens when you plug in USB-C power: negotiated voltage/current, cable limits, charger profiles, and device draw over time. It works with a small, inexpensive USB-C PD “meter” dongle (off-the-shelf models via Bluetooth/USB) and turns confusing power behavior into plain explanations: why your laptop is stuck at 15W, whether a cable is e-marked, and which charger profile your device is requesting. It also runs quick diagnostics (swap cable/port/brick) and produces a shareable report for IT or support. This is not magic—without a compatible meter it can’t see real PD traffic—but with the dongle it becomes a practical troubleshooting tool for people tired of slow charging, random disconnects, and buying the wrong accessories.
