PeakPenny
PeakPenny is a mobile + web app (traditional app with light AI) that turns messy utility data into simple, actionable peak-hour savings. Users connect their utility account (Green Button / utility OAuth where available) or upload bills/interval CSVs. The app detects time-of-use (TOU) rate windows, estimates which appliances are driving spikes using pattern analysis, and suggests realistic changes: shifting laundry/dishwasher times, pre-cooling/heating, EV charging schedules, and thermostat tweaks. It also runs a weekly “bill forecast” showing what you’ll pay if you change nothing vs. if you follow two or three specific actions. The MVP focuses on accuracy and clarity over flashy dashboards: a peak-alert feed, a savings plan, and a simple “did it work?” report. It’s honest about uncertainty and won’t pretend it can identify every device without smart plugs or a whole-home monitor.
