PeakShift

PeakShift is a mobile + web app that helps households reduce electricity costs by shifting flexible loads (laundry, dishwasher, EV charging, water heating) away from expensive peak-rate windows. Users connect their utility account (where supported) or upload a bill, then set their appliances and “can run between” time ranges. The app generates a simple daily schedule and sends notifications when it’s cheapest to run each task. It also tracks estimated savings, compares month-over-month usage normalized for weather, and flags when rate plans or TOU tiers make switching worthwhile. This is not magic: if you can’t shift usage or you’re on a flat rate, savings will be limited. But for TOU customers, EV owners, and high-usage homes, the value is immediate and measurable. The MVP focuses on clarity, not fancy dashboards.
