PeakTrim helps small and mid-sized commercial buildings reduce electricity costs by targeting peak-demand charges—the part of the bill many businesses don’t understand and can’t easily control. It connects to interval meter data (utility Green Button where available) and/or common BMS/thermostat APIs to identify the 5–15 highest-risk peak windows each month. The app generates a “peak playbook” with simple, low-disruption actions (pre-cool, staggered equipment start, adjust setpoints, shift EV charging, reschedule defrost cycles) and sends timed alerts to staff. It tracks whether actions were executed and estimates avoided demand charges with transparent assumptions. This is not magic: if a site has no interval data access, no controllable loads, or no operational discipline, savings will be limited. But for many light commercial sites, even a few avoided peaks can pay for the subscription quickly.
