PedDoseCheck is a mobile + web app for pediatric clinicians that double-checks weight-based medication dosing and flags common safety traps before orders are placed. Users enter patient age, weight (kg), indication, and route; the app calculates dose ranges, max dose caps, and frequency, and highlights high-risk meds (e.g., acetaminophen, ibuprofen, antibiotics, sedatives). It also warns on unit errors (mg vs mL), concentration mismatches, and renal/hepatic considerations when basic labs are provided. This is not a replacement for clinical judgment or your hospital formulary; it’s a fast “second set of eyes” designed for urgent care, ED, inpatient cross-cover, and outpatient pediatrics. The MVP focuses on a curated list of the top 50 pediatric meds and provides printable/shareable dosing summaries for charting and caregiver instructions.
