PermitGenie is a web app (with optional mobile companion) that helps conservation genetics teams prepare, track, and audit the permits and compliance steps tied to genetic sampling: collection permits, CITES, Nagoya/ABS, MTAs, export/import, and chain-of-custody documentation. Users build a project workspace, select countries/species/sample types, and the app generates a realistic checklist, document templates, and a timeline of dependencies (what must be approved before shipping, sequencing, or data sharing). It stores signed PDFs, email threads, and shipment metadata, then produces an audit-ready compliance packet for funders, journals, and regulators. This is not a magic “one-click legal” tool; it’s a structured workflow system that reduces missed steps and prevents expensive sample seizures or unusable datasets. AI is used to extract fields from uploaded permits and to draft plain-language summaries, but final responsibility remains with the team.
