PermitLedger

PermitLedger is a web app (with optional mobile companion) that centralizes exotic animal and zoo compliance in one place. Users build a facility profile (species held, enclosure types, transport activity, public contact, breeding, sales) and the app maps it to a jurisdiction-specific checklist: permits, renewals, inspections, recordkeeping, and reporting deadlines. It stores documents, generates audit-ready binders, and tracks tasks with role-based assignments for keepers, vets, and compliance staff. An AI layer can summarize new regulatory bulletins into “what changed” notes and draft plain-language action items, but it does not provide legal advice. Realistically, the hard part is keeping regulations current—so the product focuses on a maintainable rules database, user-submitted updates with verification, and paid “verified jurisdiction packs” for high-demand states/provinces.
