PermitLedger is a web + mobile app for homeowners and small contractors to manage the messy middle of home projects: permits, inspection schedules, required documents, and contractor compliance. Users create a project, select their city/county, and get a checklist of typical permit/inspection steps with due dates, document upload slots, and reminders. Contractors can be invited to upload license/insurance PDFs and sign off on milestones. The app stores a clean audit trail (who uploaded what, when) and generates a “project packet” PDF for resale, insurance, or disputes. This isn’t a magic auto-permit tool—jurisdictions vary too much—but it reduces missed inspections, lost paperwork, and finger-pointing. Monetization: subscription for contractors, per-project fee for homeowners, and optional paid templates for common remodel types.
