PermitPatch is a web + mobile app that helps homeowners and small contractors quickly figure out what roofing/siding work legally requires permits, what documents are typically needed, and what the realistic timeline and fee range looks like in their specific city/county. Users enter an address, pick the scope (re-roof, tear-off, new sheathing, siding replacement, structural repair), and the app returns a plain-English checklist: likely permit types, inspection steps, typical plan requirements, and common rejection reasons. It also generates a ready-to-submit “permit packet” template (scope summary, materials, contractor info, basic diagrams) and a task tracker for inspections and scheduling. This is not a magic button—local rules vary and data can be messy—so the app clearly shows confidence levels, sources, and “call to confirm” flags. The goal is fewer failed submissions, fewer delays, and fewer surprise stop-work orders.
