PermitPatch is a web app (with a lightweight mobile companion) that centralizes and automates the messy permitting and right-of-way workflow for grid infrastructure projects—pole replacements, reconductoring, new feeders, and substation tie-ins. Utilities and their EPC/contractor partners can track every permit, easement, traffic control plan, environmental review, and municipality requirement in one place, with deadlines, dependencies, and audit-ready documentation. The AI layer extracts key fields from PDFs/emails, flags missing items, and predicts which jurisdictions or permit types are likely to slip based on historical cycle times. It also produces standardized permit packets and status summaries for internal leadership and external agencies. This is not glamorous software, but it targets a real bottleneck: projects often wait on paperwork longer than on construction. Expect heavy integration and change-management work, but the ROI is tangible when it prevents schedule creep and liquidated damages.
