PermitPilot

PermitPilot is a web app (with optional mobile inspector companion) that helps local governments process building, zoning, and business permits faster by standardizing intake, automating completeness checks, and routing applications to the right reviewers. Applicants upload forms and plans; the system flags missing items against configurable checklists and local rules, then generates a clear “fix list” before staff ever touch the file. For staff, it provides a queue-based workflow, SLA timers, templated communications, and an audit trail suitable for public records. It’s a combination traditional + AI app: AI is used narrowly to extract key fields from PDFs, classify permit type, and suggest checklist items—never to make final approvals. The goal is to reduce rework, phone calls, and “where is my permit” emails, which are the real time sinks. Expect slow procurement cycles and heavy configuration needs, but the value is tangible when backlogs exist.
