PermitPilot
PermitPilot is a web app (with optional mobile companion) that generates a location-specific, business-type-specific compliance checklist for starting a small business in the US. Founders waste days on city/county/state sites, contradictory guidance, and surprise fees that delay opening. PermitPilot asks a few questions (address, industry, entity type, planned activities like signage, food handling, employees) and outputs a step-by-step plan: required licenses/permits, estimated fees, lead times, links to official forms, and a calendar of deadlines. It also provides a “call script” and email templates to confirm ambiguous requirements with local offices, and stores evidence (PDFs, receipts, reference numbers). This is a combination traditional + AI app: traditional for deterministic rules/workflows, AI to interpret messy government pages, summarize requirements, and keep the checklist updated. The product wins by saving time and preventing costly rework, not by pretending to replace an attorney.
