PermitPilot
PermitPilot is a web app (with optional mobile companion) that helps small builders, contractors, and property managers navigate local permitting and regulatory requirements without hiring a full-time compliance person. Users select a project type (e.g., kitchen remodel, signage, EV charger install) and location, then get a step-by-step permit plan: required forms, inspections, fees, timelines, and common rejection reasons. The app tracks submissions, deadlines, inspection outcomes, and maintains an audit trail of documents and communications. It also flags “gotchas” like zoning overlays, historic districts, or fire code triggers. This is a combination traditional + AI app: AI is used to extract requirements from municipal PDFs and websites, summarize changes, and generate plain-language checklists, but every item links back to the source so users can verify. Realistically, coverage will start with a limited set of cities and expand based on demand.
