PermitPilot is a web + mobile AI-assisted kitchen remodel planning app that tells homeowners what permits and inspections they likely need, what they’ll cost, and how long they typically take—based on address, scope, and local rules. Users answer a short questionnaire (moving plumbing? new circuits? structural changes?), upload a rough sketch or photos, and get a permit/inspection checklist, estimated fees, and a realistic timeline that includes common bottlenecks. It also generates a contractor-ready scope summary and a “permit risk score” that flags high-risk choices (e.g., relocating gas lines) with safer alternatives. This is not a magic button: it won’t replace an architect or city reviewer, but it will prevent the most expensive amateur mistakes—starting work without permits, underestimating inspection lead times, and hiring contractors who hand-wave compliance.
