PermitPilot

PermitPilot is a web + mobile app that helps single-family homeowners and small contractors figure out what permits they likely need, what the steps are, and what it might cost and take in time—before they waste weeks calling the city. Users enter an address, pick a project type (deck, ADU, electrical panel, fence, roof, bathroom remodel), and answer a short questionnaire. The app generates a jurisdiction-specific checklist, estimated fees, typical review timelines, required inspections, and a document pack template (scope notes, site plan prompts, contractor license/insurance reminders). It also tracks tasks and sends deadline reminders. This is a combination traditional + AI app: traditional workflows for checklists and tracking, with AI used to interpret city PDFs/web pages, summarize requirements, and draft permit-ready descriptions. It won’t “guarantee approval,” but it will reduce uncertainty and rework.
