PermitPilot

PermitPilot is a web + mobile app that helps cities and contractors track, predict, and unblock permitting and right-of-way approvals for street work, utilities, and small developments. Instead of scattered emails, PDFs, and phone calls, it centralizes submissions, checklists, required documents, and inspection scheduling in one place. The AI layer reads uploaded plans and forms, flags missing items, suggests the correct permit type, and estimates realistic approval timelines based on historical throughput and reviewer workload. It also provides a public-facing status page (optional) so residents can see what’s happening on their street and why. This is not a “smart city dashboard” fantasy—it's a workflow tool aimed at reducing rework, idle crews, and political heat from delayed projects. Success depends on tight integration with existing city processes and a clear, narrow initial scope (e.g., street opening permits).
