PermitPlan
PermitPlan is a web app (with optional desktop CAD plugin later) that turns rough residential floor plans into permit-ready plan sets tailored to a specific jurisdiction. Users upload a sketch, PDF, or simple CAD export, pick their city/county, and the app generates a checklist-driven plan package: dimensioning standards, egress and stair rules, door/window schedules, basic code notes, and a “missing info” report. It’s an AI + traditional rules engine combo: AI extracts geometry and labels; deterministic templates enforce jurisdiction requirements and output consistent sheets. The brutal truth: most DIY floor plan apps are toys; the real pain is permit rejection and rework. This product only wins if it reduces resubmittals and saves days of back-and-forth. It should charge per project or per jurisdiction pack, not a cheap subscription, because value is tied to approvals.
