PermitPulse
PermitPulse is a web app (with optional mobile alerts) that monitors public filings for mining, quarrying, drilling, and water-extraction permits across selected jurisdictions and turns them into a clean, searchable feed. It pulls from government portals, gazettes, and environmental review dockets, then normalizes messy PDFs into structured fields: operator, commodity, coordinates, status, deadlines for public comment, and linked documents. Users set watch areas (map polygons), keywords (e.g., lithium brine, aggregate, groundwater), and entities to follow. The app sends alerts when a permit is filed, amended, or approved, and provides a simple “what changed” diff between document versions. This is a combination traditional + AI app: traditional pipelines for reliability, AI for document extraction, classification, and summarization. It’s not glamorous, but it’s useful: it saves hours of manual monitoring and reduces the chance of missing time-sensitive filings.
