PermitPulse

PermitPulse is a web app (with a lightweight mobile companion) for local governments to modernize permit and license status updates without replacing their core permitting system. It creates a citizen-facing status page per application (with plain-language steps, expected timelines, and required next actions) and a staff dashboard that auto-publishes updates when key fields change. Residents get SMS/email notifications, can upload missing documents, and see exactly what is blocking approval. Staff get fewer “any update?” calls, standardized messaging, and an audit trail of communications. The product integrates via APIs where available, or via secure scheduled exports (CSV/SFTP) for legacy systems—because most cities won’t fund a full rip-and-replace. It’s not glamorous, but it targets a high-volume pain point: permits are where trust in government often breaks first.
