PermitPulse

PermitPulse is a mobile + web app that tracks hard-to-get hiking and trekking permits (national parks, wilderness quotas, hut-to-hut systems) and alerts you the moment availability appears. Users select destinations, date ranges, party size, and acceptable trailheads/camps. The app monitors official reservation systems and publishes a clean, unified view of openings, cancellations, and release schedules. It also provides a “plan B” matrix: nearby alternatives with similar mileage, elevation gain, and seasonality, so a failed permit doesn’t kill the trip. This is not a magic wand—some systems block automation and availability can vanish in seconds—but fast alerts and better visibility measurably improve odds. Revenue comes from a subscription for real-time alerts and advanced filters; a free tier offers limited tracking and weekly digests.
