PermitPulse is a web app (with an optional mobile companion) for county/parish permitting and inspections that replaces the “call/email for status” chaos with a single, trackable workflow. Residents and contractors submit permit applications, upload plans, pay fees, and see real-time status with clear next steps. Staff get an internal queue, SLA timers, templated requests-for-information, and a lightweight rules engine to route to the right reviewers (zoning, fire, environmental). The AI component is limited and practical: it auto-classifies submissions, flags missing documents, and drafts plain-language messages to applicants—no “magic approvals.” The app also publishes a public dashboard showing average turnaround times by permit type, which reduces political pressure by making performance measurable. This is not a full replacement for legacy systems; it’s a front-door and workflow layer that can integrate where possible and operate standalone where not.
