PermitSnap

PermitSnap is a mobile + web app that helps photographers quickly verify whether they can legally and practically shoot at a location, and what restrictions apply. Users search or drop a pin to see a plain-language summary: permit requirements, tripod/drone rules, hours, fees, contact links, and “gotchas” (security, crowds, seasonal closures). The app includes a checklist to generate a shoot-ready plan (documents to bring, where to park, best entry points) and a log to store permits, receipts, and email confirmations per job. It’s not glamorous, but it prevents real-world disasters: being kicked out mid-session, losing a client, or paying fines. Data comes from a mix of official sources, user submissions with evidence, and periodic verification. A lightweight AI layer can summarize long policy pages and flag likely outdated entries, but the product’s value is accuracy and workflow, not hype.
