PetLabel
PetLabel is a mobile app (with optional web dashboard) that helps pet owners quickly verify whether a food, treat, or supplement is safe for their specific pet’s needs. You scan a barcode or take a photo of the ingredients panel; the app flags common allergens (chicken, beef, dairy, grains), risky ingredients (xylitol, excessive vitamin D, certain preservatives), and mismatches with your pet profile (age, kidney issues, pancreatitis risk, weight goals). It also tracks what you’ve fed before and any reactions you log, then suggests safer alternatives available at major retailers. This is not a “diagnosis” tool—just a practical shopping filter that reduces accidental bad purchases. The MVP focuses on dogs and cats, English labels, and a curated ingredient-risk database rather than trying to “understand” every niche product on day one.
