PillGuard

PillGuard is a mobile + web AI app that helps apparel brands and textile mills quantify fabric pilling and surface fuzz consistently. Instead of subjective “looks fine” lab notes, users photograph standardized swatches (or finished garments) under guided lighting prompts; the app scores pilling severity, tracks change across wash cycles, and generates a simple pass/fail report tied to a lot, supplier, and construction. Teams can compare knit vs. weave structures, yarn types, and finishing recipes, and spot which combinations drive returns. The MVP focuses on repeatable capture, a single scoring model, and lightweight reporting—because most teams won’t adopt anything that requires new hardware or complex lab workflows. It won’t replace ISO/ASTM lab testing, but it can drastically reduce iteration time and prevent obvious bad lots from shipping.
