PillProof

PillProof is a mobile + web app that helps patients and caregivers confirm they have the right medication before taking it. Users scan a pill or bottle label with their phone camera; the app cross-checks imprint/shape/color (when available), NDC/barcode, and the user’s active med list to flag mismatches, duplicates, and common high-risk confusions (look-alike/sound-alike drugs). It also prompts for simple context—dose time, recent changes, and who prescribed it—to reduce false alarms. The app generates a clear “take / don’t take / verify” result and a short checklist for what to do next (e.g., call pharmacy, check refill label, contact prescriber). It’s not a diagnosis tool; it’s a safety workflow that prevents avoidable errors at home, especially after hospital discharge or when multiple family members manage meds.
