PlainPatch

PlainPatch is an AI-assisted web app (with browser extension) that rewrites real-world content—policies, emails, instructions, support articles—into plain language with traceable edits. Users paste text or highlight it in the browser, choose a reading level (e.g., 6th–10th grade), and get a rewrite plus a “change log” that explains what was simplified and why. It flags jargon, long sentences, passive voice, undefined acronyms, and buried calls-to-action, then offers alternatives. Unlike generic grammar tools, it focuses on clarity outcomes: comprehension checks (quick questions), scannability scores, and a “what the reader should do next” summary. Teams can save style rules (tone, banned terms, required disclosures) and run batch checks on knowledge-base pages. The goal is fewer misunderstandings, fewer support tickets, and faster approvals from legal/compliance because changes are auditable.
